"DVC and Great Apartment Living"
The main thing that you will find on Golf Club Road is Diablo Valley College (known locally as “DVC”), it is the community college for the area and one of the main feeder schools for Cal Berkeley. It has a very nice clean campus that offers a great learning environment and it has very good facilities. It is probably the best community college in the East Bay with a wide assortment of classes and a fairly diverse student body.
You will also find apartment complexes right where Golf Club road breaks off from Contra Costa Blvd. and along the north side of the street. You have shopping area with a supermarket, a bookstore that caters to the students and (it has mostly textbooks) and a K-Mart. This is a good place to live because the cost of living tends to be a little bit lower than in the Walnut Creek area, while you still get all of the amenities of a suburban lifestyle. The sheer number of apartments here also keeps rents relatively competitive as far as the area goes.
One thing to watch out for is the heavy traffic during school hours, especially at the beginning of the semester when students are trying to add classes and get their schedules straight. Otherwise, this is a pleasant street to live on.
Farther up the road, as you would expect for a road called Golf Club, you actually have a golf course.
