"Ethnic Food Markets"
There are a lot of stores on Franklin Avenue that pay homage to the Middle Eastern Influence in the neighborhood. Pakistani and Afghani Grocers are easily found and Halal markets are pretty common as well. While it's a nice addition to any city the area can get pretty packed on the weekends with shoppers so avoid it if you can on Saturday and Sunday.
"Ethnic diversity abound"
Franklin Avenue is a true showcase of the South Asian and Middle Eastern population of Queens. The street is tightly packed with specialty grocers, discount stores and a number of ethnic eateries. Into Flushing the street becomes more "service" oriented with a great deal of doctors and other professionals occupying offices beneath housing. Overall it's a nice enough area, but a bit load and well traveled for a truly peaceful living experience.

"Ethnic marketplaces on this major street."
There is a huge Indian and Pakistani market in this area. You can also get some really good Afghani food on this street too. This street is always full of people walking around on the streets. Most of the time I drove through here there was some mild traffic. There isn't much entertainment besides eating and shopping at discount stores here. This street is pretty safe to take the whole family.
