The unincorporated area of Hayward known as Fairview is a pretty big area. There are no amenities so you have to drive to wherever you want to go. Most people shop in Castro Valley, Pleasanton, Dublin instead of Hayward. Homes prices are from 400's to 900's. There are a couple of gated communities. Stonebrae and Bailey Ranch are the newest developments. The Stonebrae Golf course and country club are located off of Fairview Ave. Most of the streets do not have sidewalks so walking is not popular. Hiking trails are located throughout the area. Once in a while you will see horses. Because of it's unincorporated status owners are allowed to have horses, chickens, roosters, goats, etc. The Alameda County Sheriff is who you call when there's a problem. High fire status because of proximity to the hills. Speed bumps slow down the traffic.
