Excelsior, San Francisco crime - do the locals think there is alot of crime in the neighborhood?

I don't think it's a front-burner-every-day concern, but it's definitely not off the radar, either. Captain Mahoney presents regularly to the Excelsior District Improvement Association, and there are always questions and concerns for him.

I suspect merchants on Mission have bigger problems than do residents farther up the hill.
