"Historic Morningside Neighborhood has many new homes yet retains it quaint character"

Like neighboring SW Minneapolis, Edina has been experiencing an unprecedented increase in the number of homes being torn down and rebuilt... especially in the older Morningside neighborhood. The sensitive blend of old and new homes on curving streets and rolling hills gives this neighborhood a unique character.

The Morningside neighborhood has a wonderful history. Oddly, the community grew up as a place between here and there. At the turn of the century the Como-Harriet Streetcar line was built to go between the neighboring Linden Hills area of south Minneapolis and the town of Edina. It has a history of strong independence and determination, with a strong sense of community involvement.
Pros
  • Close proximity to Minneapolis lakes
  • Outstanding schools
  • Amazing homes
  • Incredible neighborhoods
Cons
  • Expensive cost of entry

"5 Star City"

A lot of folks I come across describe Edina as "the best of the best". It's a city that is constantly keeping up with the trends, yet continues to retain it's roots.

It is home to the first indoor shopping mall in the country, Southdale Shopping Center. But don't think that means it is old fashioned! SD Mall keeps updating it's skin, inside and out. The city is home to other great shopping areas including the Galleria.

The city is fast becoming known for its excellent medical care. Not on the hospital, but the multitude of sub-specialty doctors, clinics and offices located here.

Edina is a first-ring suburb that takes advantage of the best of both the suburban and city worlds, yet lives like a small town.

It boasts Award-winning schools, its own downtown, 39 parks, an outdoor aquatic center, two public libraries, four golf courses (two public and two private), an art center, a senior center, and claim to Southdale, plus a nine-mile commute to Downtown Minneapolis without ever getting on the freeway make Edina a great location.
Pros
  • Great Shopping
  • Outstanding Medical Care
  • Variety of Home Styles

"Edina"

Edina

A central part of the Greater Metro Area, Edina, Minnesota is one of the busiest suburbs surrounding the Twin Cities. Located just southwest of Minneapolis, Edina is a thriving business and shopping community, while retaining a friendly family atmosphere perfect for raising children. This quickly growing area has become an extremely popular area for those who work in the Twin Cities, but desire a more residential, easy-going pace of life. Edina real estate has flourished in the last few years, offering a wide variety of opportunities for first-time buyers looking to relocate and settle down in the suburbs. If you are presently in the market for a home, Edina is certainly a viable and attractive possibility.

Though it is outside of Minneapolis, there is no lack of shopping and entertainment options in Edina. The Southdale Center is one of the largest malls in the Twin Cities, offering 1.3 million square feet of department stores, restaurants and an attractive multi-plex movie theater. If that isn’t enough, Edina is within striking distance (an easy ten minute drive at most) of Bloomington’s famous Mall of America, one of the premiere tourist attractions in all of Minnesota. Additionally, the area between West 50th Street and France Avenue South is an extremely popular location for commercial and independent shopping. Many residents of the Twin Cities regularly find themselves trekking out to Edina because of its dense shopping culture.

More than anything, though, Edina prides itself on being a strong family community. The strength of the public school system in Edina is one of the reasons so many migrate to this budding area. Edina High School routinely is ranked nationally as one of the top schools in the nation, with a strong academic backbone, along with competitive extra-curricular activities to supplement. Publications such as Newsweek have honored its academic achievements, and its well-regarded sports program has been mentioned in Sports Illustrated. Most impressively, nearly 96 percent of high school graduates go on to college, and 85 percent complete an undergraduate degree within five years. The success of this town’s youth is truly a testament to the community of Edina.
Edina has a great deal to offer in terms of real estate. Some of the most spectacular multi-story homes in the Twin Cities can be found here, but the real estate is by no means limited to the extremely affluent. There are a wealth of single-family starter homes available in great neighborhoods at reasonable prices, as well as multiple condominium developments. In the current buyers market of real estate around the Twin Cities, the time has never been better to buy a dream home. If you are considering your options, I would encourage you to contact me and I would be happy to help assist you.

"A great place to live and play!"

Edina is a first ring suburb making it an accessible and convenient place to live. It has a long standing great reputation for fabulous schools, parks and shopping. Edina has several shopping area's but a few highlights include Southdale Center, which has been in the process of getting a much needed renovation and the Shops at 50th and France. Edina like Minneapolis boasts strong neighborhoods and communities. The streets are lined with beautiful trees and the yards and houses are well maintained. Edina is home to several neighborhood parks as well as a few larger parks that attract people from all over the Twin Cities including Centennial Lakes and Edinborough Park. Edinborough is completely enclosed and a great spot to burn off some energy during the winter months. We are also huge fans of the aquatic center, we've had memberships to the pool for as long as we've had kids.

Close to downtown Minneapolis, MSP International Airport and more. The homes range from vintage to contemporary located on huge wooded lots or a golf course. It is really the "best of the best" in what the Twin Cities have to offer. The price of admission can be steep but if you want the best this is it.
