The East Village is so unique. The architecture varies from former tenement houses to beautiful townhouses to high rises (once you're near Bowery). And, the people are just as diverse. I would consider the East Village to be a young person's neighborhood because it's so lively. But, a lot of professionals and retired people live there too. The is a fantastic array of restaurants, bars, people playing music in the streets, weirdos, druggies, tourists, you name it. I love the East Village. The energy is unlike any other part of New York, let alone the world. There are always people out so it can be quite loud. But, man, it's a good time.
