"Not Bad - Could Do With a Face Lift"
E. 227th Street is not all that long. It does cover many blocks but is shorter than some surrounding streets.
Based on what I saw when traveling on it is that there are some areas that have plenty of trees. I liked that. But there were also sections that were not perfectly clean. It looked rugged. I did not see any schools, but there are some stores, especially at street corners.
Not a bad place for retirees and single people.

"East 227th Street"
This street is chalked full of businesses, churches, and places to eat, and there is a nice vibe and overall comfort and ease to the street. I liked how friendly the people were, and ready and able they were to serve you in the stores, and the unpretentiousness of the people on the streets. All in all it was a very good street, but not really worth a climb into the Bronx, in my opinion.

"East 227th Street"
With many small businesses, churches, and restaurants, this street has constant traffic, but perhaps not constant fun. I think that this would be a nice street to live on, though it seems that there are a lot of run down places on this block without a lot of wherewithal to fix anything up. I wasn’t impressed with the upkeep, but I was impressed by some of the delightful people I met who ran the shops and stores on this street. Good atmosphere.
