"1st ave in the Upper East"
There is a smorgasbord of little restaurants on this street that sort of cater to the local tourist-Central Park tourists that have wandered a bit (okay, wandered pretty far). For some reason, these include plenty of Mexican restaurants, like Maya New York, Rosa Mexicano, and Cilantro. Maya offers a pretty laid back atmosphere, and pretty good food to go with. Of course, if you’re visiting New York you may just want to stick to local fare – and you can do so on 1st Ave with a good number of pizzerias and hot dog stands.
