Moving from Philly to Denver, where should i go?

I am from philadelphia, moving for graduate school at CU Denver. I am looking for an area with a decent night life as i will be new to town and single, and hope to rent a place in a hip, SAFE neighborhood. what can you suggest? Have not narrowed down a price point yet.Google map shows Five points as somewhat decent looking but I keep hearing that its not safe there at all. I've heard conflicting things about LoDo as well, but am open to all suggestions.

Denver has so many neighborhoods these days that are evolving into amazing places to live. I would suggest Uptown, Capitol Hill for nightlife as a college student. Clearly Lower Downtown (LoDo) and River North (RiNo) are trendy neighborhoods for nightlife. RiNo technically is in Five Points. Here's a blog post about finding your dream neighborhood in Denver if you want to learn more. Good luck in Denver, you're going to love it!
