"I Could Live Here..."
The streets of Sonoma are all incredibly conducive to a pleasant, agreeable lifestyle - sizable homes without being overstated, comfortable, safe suburban neighborhoods, walking distance to the neighbors without being on top of one another, walking distance to downtown, and extending off into the woods, where larger, more tucked-away homes and wineries are located.
Denmark Street is a perfect example of this - it begins close to the grid-like downtown area and extends east to a more wooded, covered-over, winding (though nothing like the redwoods!) street, and ends at the spectacular Gundlach Bundschu winery, the second oldest in Sonoma. The tasting room is extensive, even for the $5 tastings, and the scenic outdoor lake adds to the ambiance.
Despite being home to a major tourist attraction, the traffic is not horrific. The easy grade makes it bike-friendly, and the changing scenery makes it enjoyable. Definitely a must-visit, for the winery if nothing else!
