"Polhemus Road is it's own world"

Polhemus Road can be very confusing. It changes into two other roads which is quite common for a lot of roads actually in the San Mateo area. The road is set back from all the loudness of motorists and the hums and drums of modern life. The houses are lost in the thickets of the forest with only a main stretch of road to guide them back to the rest of the world. I grew up out here with my parents in a house with a long winding drive way set back from the main road and it was a great childhood. If you are a tourist passing through this area it is quite understandable if you want to get out of your car and experience the views. There are a couple of dugouts off the road that allow for cars to stop and take a quick break. Be on the look out for the state police catching speeders though.
