Conover St, Red Hook

For an interesting take on museums, I suggest making a visit to the Waterfront Museum at 290 Conover Street. The floating museum is on the last remaining wood-covered barge of the New York Harbor. And inside shows the history and geography of the harbor, the process of importing and exporting goods and food to the states and the comical rescue of the barge by a clown and juggler in a theatrical performance. Though quite unconventional, this museum is very entertaining, and a good day outing for the kids as well.
