"A large shopping area with a small subdivision in the borders"

City Center North is a large area that has mostly shopping areas, strip malls, restaurants and businesses such as a motel and on of the city's DMV offices. There are numerous restaurants to choose from in this area, such as a Macaroni Grill, Chili's, Mimi's Cafe, Senor Miguels, and more. This area also houses the Aurora City Municipal Court as well as the main station for the City of Aurora Police Department. This area is busy with traffic and both 6th Avenue and Alameda Avenue are connected to I-225 via exit and on ramps. Chambers is also a busy street as it is a major thoroughfare through the city. You can find yourself in traffic in this area just about any time of day, although it is much worse during rush hour. The housing development which lies within the borders is small compared to the rest of the areas of housing surrounding City Center North. The homes here are mostly well taken care of seem to be cared for. There are several apartment buildings in the neighborhood, mostly off of Sable Blvd. While they aren't the nicest ones I've seen, they aren't run down looking or anything either.

Overall this is a part of town that has a lot to offer, but I think the crime rate here and in surrounding areas makes it a questionable place to live. While it seems nice and vibrant in the daytime, I have not felt safe in this part of town at night for some years now.
Pros
  • a lot of shopping and dining options
Cons
  • some crime
