It's hard to find an uncrowded place to view the fireworks, even the secluded parks in Clifton get crowded these days. If you have a friend with access to a downtown office with a river view, that would be your best bet.
I once got a pretty good view of the fireworks from a friend's 6th floor studio at Pendleton Art Center. That's another option if you know an artist with the right studio location. Otherwise, you'll have to join the crowd and stake out a riverfront viewing spot as early as possible.
