The Enquirer is skews to the extreme side of conservatism in most things as does a lot of its readership. They have thinned down the paper and let go a lot of long-time staff, so quality has gone downhill as well (not that they were an award-winning paper to begin with.) They've also recently gone to a pay model for most of their online content. About the only thing the newspaper is good for these days are the coupons and ads on Sunday.

Cincinnati used to have two papers, the Post in the evening and the Enquirer in the morning. The Post went out of circulation years ago, leaving the Enquirer to fill the evening void. The Enquirer takes mostly Conservative positions on many political issues.
Like most print media across the country, the availability of internet news has forced the Enquirer to downsize over the past few years. They've reduced their staff and recently made plans to reduce the size of the paper to smaller dimensions, while the cost to consumers has risen. I like the Enquirer as long as I can balance what I read with a more free-thinking paper like City Beat.
