"In the middle of nowhere and, yet, everything!"
A sleepy, little town with little to offer in the way of industry or entertainment, HOWEVER, it is very scenic and just minutes from Chattanooga, TN which has most anything you could want. Chickamauga is near Lookout Mountain which offers lots of memorable tourist and outdoor opportunities, and is RICH in history. Be sure to check out Fort Oglethorpe and the numerous other Civil War landmarks in the area; there are also a number of maintained and/or restored, historic homes. Square in the middle between Nashville, Knoxville, Atlanta and Birmingham, 3 interstate freeways (24, 59, 75) make it easy to get there.
