What should two young adults that are from Atlanta, Georgia expect when moving to Chicago?

In about 2 to 4 years, my sister and I want to move out of a little town outside of Atlanta to Chicago. We lived in Los Angeles before we moved to Atlanta so we know a bit about the city life. Facts about the weather, work, apartment renting, night life, neighborhoods (safe and for working middle class) and anything helpful would be greatly appreciated!!

It gets below 0 every winter, with wind that burns your skin, so shop places like northface in the off-season for deals. You can get around without a car (no drinking and driving!). No sir-ing or ma'am-ing here. Depending on what kind f nightlife you lke and your budget will depend on what areas will work best for you. Safe neighborhoods tend to congregate from Hyde Park up to Edgewater along the lake, Andersonville, Bucktown, Wicker Park, Roscoe Village all west of the lake-bordering neighborhoods.

Chicago is a great city with a lot to offer! Atlanta and LA are different, but not terribly so. The weather in Chicago will be much colder in winter with regular snow and ice. It might take an adjustment, but with the right cold weather clothing and gear, you will be fine. Chicago offers a wide range of work options and just as many night life options. Before you move, take some time to visit neighborhoods you might like to live in when you move. Keep in mind, Chicago has public transportation options that are widely used. You may want to look for a place with good access to public transport or that has parking depending on your needs.
