Is Michigan Avenue really that great for shopping?

Or is it just for super rich people and tourists?

I've been down Michigan Avenue many times, and while it's certainly a tourist attraction and a bit pricey, it's also really nice with plenty of stores you can at the very least visit, even if you're not buying very much. And you won't be run out of any stores for your lack of gold watches.
