What is it like to live on Chauncey Street, Brooklyn between Saratoga/Howard Aves?

How is it for an unassuming but young pretty blonde white girl in college to live?

Single, young girl: no. Don't live in Bed-Stuy. I would live in Bushwick if you want to stay around that area. Or, Clinton Hill. They're both really trendy and young, but they're still up and coming so they're not as pricey as other Brooklyn neighborhoods. I wouldn't consider Bed-Stuy safe enough to live alone as a girl. Especially a transplant . . .

I agree with JenMac, but only to a certain extent. Beds-Stuy is the definaition of block by block-some streets are beautiful, tree lined and filled with working families. The problem is part of BedStuy you are looking in. That part is rough around the edges still- I live on Halsey and Stuyvesant- I DO NOT go past Stuyvesant for any reason- and I am a young black male- The pocket where I am: between Hancock and Fulton from Marcus Garvey to Stuyvesant is fine and Nostrand to Throop is fine to Hancock as well. Lots af hip cafes and resurants are on Lewis- I see young white girls waking around like its nothing in my area. Its not like you will stand out like a sore thumb. Just be alert at night like ANY WOMAN should- but the part you are looking at? AVOID. It's a bit run down and the gentrification has not really reached to that point yet.
