"Not my Favorite..."

Cesar Chavez, located right off of 101 in the Mission, is not the street that makes San Francisco as cool as it is. It is somewhat noisy and chaotic, but more importantly, it is not very aesthetically pleasing. The old cables from the cable car system hang above the street, the homes are not nearly as nice as they are in some of the other neighborhoods, the cars are somewhat run-down, and there isn't a huge abundance in the way of nightlife or entertainment - although some of the nearby streets certainly make up for that. Additionally, this would not be my first choice of a street to walk on alone at night.

On the plus side, this street is relatively car-friendly and easy to drive through, although I would not want to bike along here (it is done by some). This is more of a main drag to get drivers, specifically, from Point A to Point B, and offers some (again, relatively) cheap real estate in San Francisco.
Pros
  • Cheap
  • Near Mission bars and restaurants
  • Close to 101
Cons
  • Traffic
  • Questionable safety
  • Dirty

"Long fun filled street. "

This street is great because the cable car runs along it and because there are fabulous restaurants on it. This street is pretty long and you must be careful on some parts of this street like the mid section because it isn’t in the greatest of areas. Not for children. It actually has many highway overpasses on the eastward end of the road and is a pretty busy street.

lionelhutz This review is completely misleading and totally inaccurate. There are no cable car lines that run along Cesar Chavez nor are there any "fabulous restaurants," unless you consider a gas station a "fabulous restaurant." Not even the occasional taco truck. Moreover, the fact that the submitter looked at a map and apparently realized that the presence of freeway overpasses made it not the "greatest of areas" doesn't make it any more helpful or accurate.
