There are at least half a dozen bars in Central Waterfront, San Francisco that locals just love.

For your average corner bar, try the Dogpatch Saloon on a non-jazz night. There are also a number of places that people these days call "dive" bars, but that I just think of as regular bars: The Sea Star, Mission Hill, and Thee Parkside.

If you're more of a cheesy winey type, try Yield Wine Bar and for an Irish Pub try Bloom (a little overly corporate feeling for me).

Then of course there is Poquito for tapas and the Serpentine for dinner with your mixed drinks (almost like a cocktail lounge).

And for a bit of Salsa Dancing, try Cafe Cocomo (or the Ramp on Sunday nights).

Definitely no lack of choices.
