"Great place for medical/nursing students & healthcare workers to live and study"
This neighborhood is close to medical center, contains many apartments and convenient markets, such as Randalls, Krogers, Walmarts, etc. For eating out, we have all kinds of fast food restaurants. e.g. Church’s Chicken, Starbucks, Golden Corral, eat-in restaurants, e.g. Papasitos, Olive Restaurant, and a variety of shopping stores, like Ross, Petco, nearby etc. The environment and ambience here is also quiet and calm. There are a few complaints of insecurities within the apartment complex close by. People with limited ownership of vehicles can also take bus here to go to work/market/for fun. In general, this is a perfect place for students or medical staff to live just for convenience of transportation.

"Buffalo Speedway around West U: name is an oxymoron"
Definitely DO NOT speed on Buffalo Speedway. It is easily the biggest speed trap in West U...and the only major street in the area with a speed limit of 30, funnily enough.
Buffalo Speedway has two things it shares with much of the rest of West U, though: high prices but great convenience. The shopping center up Buffalo near US59 is one of the best in that part of Houston, and the neighborhoods flanking the speedway are uniformly immaculate. I'm sure actual residents love the overfelt presence of police in the neighborhood, but I think many teens and Rice students feel differently ;).
