The Mediterranean has a lively happy hour scene with great appetizer and drink specials. Across the street, 1010 is also a fine place for tasty food and wine selection but with a French flare. For those Mexican/margarita cravings, the Rio Grande is the place. The Rio will be remodeling their bar...the plans look great...the rooftop dining will stay the same. For an authentic Boulder historic/architectural experience, the Corner Bar/Q's at the Boulderado is a classic,

The Southern Sun is a very welcoming, family-friendly bar with locally-brewed beer and delicious burgers. Another great place for a beer and burger in Boulder is The Dark Horse, located on Baseline Road. It's a real dive bar, but an experience! Be careful that the bathrooms don't trick you!

There is a fun new (ish) bar in Boulder called West Flanders. It's on Pearl St. in the old BJ's Pizza building. Check it out!

The Rio Grande in Boulder is also a very well-visited bar with incredible margaritas and a roof-top deck with killer views!

It depends on what you are looking for, but my top two are Mountain Sun, a small brewpub that has amazing beer and food, or the West End, a west pearl bar that always has good beer on tap (read: Stone Brewing). Mountain sun is always busy after 4, so prepare for a wait at the bar, and it can be vary noisy, so probably not the best place if you aren't into loud crowds. The West End can also get packed upstairs, but is a fun atmosphere weekend nights.

HeatherS I really love the Mountain Sun downtown and the Southern Sun in south Boulder.

Bitter Bar for hand crafted cocktails, Conor O'Neills for a true Irish Pub, Q's bar and Catacombs in the Hotel Boulderado, and I agree with Jenny, The Rio makes a dangerous Marg!
