Beacon is home to many incredibly beautiful Victorian houses built in the 1800's. They are scattered through the town, but there is a neighborhood of them on the hills overlooking the Hudson River around where Main Street meets 9D. If you drive along 9D toward the Newburgh-Beacon bridge and look up to the right, you'll see them.
