"Plenty to see"

As a semi-local non-tourist, I will tell you to avoid Fisherman's Wharf at all cost, but that is my own, personal, biased opinion. Many people love the area, and there is a reason why it gets so much action, that has as much to do with the droves of street artists and vendors as it does with overpriced restaurants and ferry tours. Admittedly, I do love the sourdough bread shop.

Luckily for the non-tourists, the street redeems itself quickly, bordering Ghiradelli Square, the SF Maritime Park (which I have already indicated as one of the most romantic areas, by night, that I have ever seen) and the western part of the Marina, known for its great restaurants and enough shopping to keep the entire cast of Sex & The City busy for days.

So while the street is inaptly named, unless you consider a couple of piers and a small nearby marina a "beach," it probably has more activity to offer than the real thing.
Pros
  • Great food
  • Great shopping
  • Great views nearby
Cons
  • Too many tourists
  • Not enough parking
  • Too many high price tags

"Beach street is far from the beach but close to the action"

Beach Street runs through the Marina, Russian Hill and Fisherman's Wharf. Down by the Wharf there's not much to see, except hotels and some tourist shops with souvenirs. But as you going West toward Hyde, you'll come upon the Buena Vista bar - known for their Irish coffees and if you look right you'll see people lined up to ride the cable car. A little further West and you enter Russian Hill and you'll hit the San Francisco Maritime Museum. Go even further West into the Marina and it turns residential.

Beach Street is close to the wide open green space known as the Marina Green and close to Fort Mason. Both great park/outdoor areas to walk through or around. As you pass through Fisherman's Wharf and hit Russian Hill, Beach Street is only a block away from Ghiradelli Square. A fun spot if you like icecream, cupcakes, chocolate, or wine. Some shops there too.

"Lots of Family Fun"

Beach Street and the Fishermans Wharf are alive with activity twenty four hours a day. One of my favorite attractions in the area is the Aquarium of the Bay, located at Pier 39. This incredible aquatic refuge gives you a sneak peak into the beautiful waters of the San Francisco bay. You are able to walk through what feels like miles of underwater tunnels, exposing you to the most exotic wildlife the Pacific Ocean has to offer. Tons of learning activities for the whole family!

"Beach Street provides plenty"

Beach Street in San Francisco, CA is very close to tourist attraction "Fisherman's Wharf". There is plenty to do here both during the day and night. It is very kid friendly and you would enjoy all the action of people entertaining on the streets. At night time, the clubs are very popular, there is a very nice Blue's club and several others.

"Retiro Way: A safe and peaceful street"

Retiro Way intersects Casa Way and Fillmore Street. This street has pretty nice houses, they are mostly three stories high. There are also apartments located here, they are pretty good too. There is no traffic here and there are plenty of spaces to park, that is because the houses have their own driveways. The street is very clean, there aren't any cracks, oil stains, etc on the ground. There isn't any graffiti either. There are many trees lining the sidewalk and most of the houses have their own shrubs or plants in front of their houses. The only negative aspect of this street is that there aren't many bus stops and stores around so one would have to travel a little bit to buy groceries or other items.

"Street close to Fisherman's Wharf"

Beach Street is a short street on San Francisco’s northeastern end waterfront. Although the name may be misleading as Beach Street is not actually on a beach or even relatively close to one, it is still a fairly busy street. It runs from across the street from San Francisco’s famous Pier 39 to a dead end just past Polk Street. There is lots of action going on Beach, mainly for tourists visited Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf. Although there are not too many attractions on Beach, there are a lot of bus stops, stores, parking, and small motels. Personally, Beach Street is one of my favorite places to park when I visit the area because it is very close to the area while being far enough that there are plenty of spots.

"Fisherman's Wharf Street"

Beach St is a small st that lines fisherman's wharf. There is a beautiful view of the ocean and access to the lovely marina. There is also the golden gate recreational area and an Aquatic park. There are lots of tourists in this neighborhood. It is a great place to get clam chowder.
