Young couple moving from Illinois to Austin in two weeks. HELP!

My husband, dog & I are moving from Illinois to Austin in two weeks. What is the best neighborhood for young couples that would like to experience all Austin has to offer and would like a great neighborhood vibe? We're not super trendy, just want a good neighborhood that has fun, local places to offer and a park for our dog. Help would be much appreciated!
