"Street with best tunnel of trees"
Atherton Drive has some of the oldest, most beautiful oak trees covering and shading the 200 block. The street has always been a through street, and the stop signs don't always slow traffic, but it is the prettiest street in the Beverly Knoll neighborhood with the mix of Creole cottages & newer architecturally interesting homes. There are a few "Brick boxes" with no redeeming visual value, but for the most part the fell is still "Old Metairie".
