"Portlands Top Neighborhood."

There’s not much to say about Arlington Heights, other than: stunning, gorgeous, beautiful, upscale and “I’m jealous.” This is truly one of Portland’s most sought after neighborhoods due to it’s prestigious zip code and that it’s minutes away from downtown.

First, the homes: The neighborhood is filled with historic homes and mansions along winding tree filled roads. Passing by these homes you often wonder to yourself what prominent old time Portlander lived in which home. But if the homes aren’t enough to look at, then note that you are in the area of the Portland Zoo, the Japanese and Rose Gardens as well as Washington Park, perhaps one of the best parks in the country. Filled with miles of trails, summer concerts, and over 400 acres of gardens trees and playgrounds, you can spend an entire day roaming and never be bored. Bring a picnic lunch from the Elephants Deli and you have what many would call the perfect day.

Of course, the best shops and restaurants are all nearby or a short drive away. Needless to say, residents of Arlington Heights are successful and a combination of the young and established families.

"The Proximity to Washington Park makes this neighborhood a real winner!"

Arlington Heights has to be one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Portland. After all, it is right inside of Washington Park and all the amazing things the park has to offer including the Rose Gardens, Arboretum, Portland Japanese Gardens and, of course, the zoo. The only park I can compare Washington Park to is Balboa Park in San Diego. You don't feel as though you are in a park at all, but instead a getaway far removed from the city. Ok, let me stop gushing about the park now. But that truly is one of the most amazing things about the Arlington Heights area.

As far as other details you will want to know about this area, it is pretty expensive. The houses generally are gorgeous and offer amazing views. So, needless to say, there is some competition to live in this area. If you do end up living in Arlington Heights, you will feel as though you are living somewhere very remove and quiet. However, this does mean that you aren't located near any of the shops and restaurants that Portland has to offer. If you want to enjoy a dinner, a movie or shopping, you will have to drive. With that said, however, you aren't very far from downtown and there is excellent public transportation nearby.

"Beautiful Residential Neighborhood Filled With Parks And Green Spaces"

Arlington Heights, in the West Hills area of North Portland, is one of the most upscale residential areas of the city. Filled with beautiful homes, the neighborhood offers beautiful views of downtown Portland.

This area is walking or biking distance to major attractions, including the Oregon Zoo, the Japanese Gardens, and the Rose Garden. It is also very family-friendly, with plenty of parks and the Children's Museum. There are many young families here, so expect to see lots of toddlers in playgrounds and moms pushing strollers down Arlington Heights sidewalks. While it's mostly a residential area, the many parks and other outdoor attractions bring plenty of tourists into Arlington Heights.

Homes in the area are mostly older and well kept. Expect quiet, winding roads lined with large, older trees and expansive homes. It's an ideal neighborhood for Portland's well-off residents who are looking for easy access to downtown Portland but want to live away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. There are no major highways through the neighborhood, giving it a quiet and relaxed feeling, though major thoroughfares on the borders of the neighborhood make for easy commuting. Most people tend to commute elsewhere in the city for shopping, dining, and nightlife. If you enjoy lots of green spaces and want to live in a beautiful neighborhood, Arlington Heights might be right for you.
