"Intersesting Neighboorhood Vibe"

Amal Heights is an adorable little sub-division that is located right beside Interstate 85 nestled and nestled between three different parks. The values of the homes range but most stay around the area of $50,000 to $80,000. Schools are abundant here and include Slater Elementary, Perkerson Elementary, Dobbs Elementary and D.H. Stanton Elementary all, which have excellent praise from the community around.

Pekerson Park, Auther Langford Jr. Park and Adair Park are all just a short distance allowing easy access for the outdoor enthusiast and offer a range of activities. Amal Heights Neighborhood is also closely located near several shopping strips with stores.

The Trackside restaurant is just a short distance away and is raved for its southern flair and recipes. The Mykonos Grill is also in the vicinity with a Greek venue to tease the taste buds. Two amazing restaurants everyone should try.

The wonderful vibe and friendly people attract people to this area easily with southern charm. This area is know for it community spirit and strength. Families would do well in this area.

"Not too bad"

Amal Heights is a community located about 5 miles south of Atlanta along interstate I-75. The area lies along historic Pryor road. Amal Heights’ residential area consists of mainly a subdivision that looks as if the houses were built during the 80s. If you are a concert goer,
this neighborhood will be attractive because it is located near Lakewood amphitheatre, now known as Aaron’s Amphitheatre. Aaron’s Amphitheatre is an outdoor concert venue that has a capacity of around eighteen thousand guests.

Besides Aarons, Amal Heights really does not have a lot going for it. There are not many restaurant choices in the area outside typical fast food establishments and a few soul food spots. If you are a fan of public transportation, there are several MARTA bus stops in this community. In regard to education choices, Amal Heights is located near Atlanta Technical College and Atlanta Metropolitan College. These colleges offer technical certifications and other programs that are great affordable options for those that are not interested in four year universities. South side of Atlanta needs drastic improvements if it wants to attract younger residents. The area now consists mostly of an aging population. New businesses should take advantage of the cheap land prices and close proximity to Atlanta’s airport.
Pros
  • close to the airport
Cons
  • needs more shopping choices

"Nothing to Write Home About"

Amal Heights is a nice neighborhood, but nothing to really write home about. There are no real stand out features, nothing really exciting that would make you want to tell somebody about. It's an average community in an average section of the greater Atlanta area.

Now, I am sure residents of Amal Heights probably feel differently. Of course, most people would like to think there was something good about where they live, unless they are living there by default. But nice is not necessarily a bad thing. Some of the things that make a neighborhood or area notable could be good or bad - nice homes and amenities are good - high crime would be bad. So being somewhere in the middle with no extremes to either side could really be a good thing.

The Amal Heights neighborhood is the kind of community that most people would be satisfied in living in. As long as you are not looking for loads of entertainment, and exciting night life, you would probably be okay living in the neighborhood, but as I said before, it's nothing to write home about.
Pros

  • not a lot of entertainment or nightlife - can be considered pro or con
