What are the benefits of living in Alamosa?

Is it family friendly?

I would agree that I'd rather live in the San Luis valley than in Alamosa itself. But as far as benefits go, I definitely thing that the size of Alamosa could be a pro for families. It's small enough for you to know your neighbors, but the college does provide a level of busyness and culture that this town wouldn't have otherwise. Also, the nearness of the sand dunes would definitely be a plus for me! I love that place. :)

Alamosa is really hot in the summer months. Living there would be a little hard for me cause you are not really in the mountains and there are a lot of people in and out of town. I would rather live in the surrounding areas of the San Luis and use Alamosa to shop.
