West 42nd Street is the home of Broadway, the home of Times Square, and is largely considered the heart of the city. The street is chalked full of shopping ranging from high-end fashion boutiques to street vendors. When visiting New York, this street is an essential stop, though for many natives, the over-saturation and ultimate branding of the street itself have marked it an avenue to avoid. Perhaps this is due to the ever-present tourist equipped with fanny pack and camera or because of the heavy traffic. Regardless, this street is ingrained in the consciousness of New Yorkers as the street of dreams, and with it’s great views of the flashing lights of the city that never sleeps, the saying doesn’t do it justice.
