South St. in lower Manhattan which is home to the South Street Seaport is always a fun spot to bring the kids especially for a day of maritime and police museums and shopping an dinning.
The seaport dates back to the 1600's.
Take the kids to visit the old ships and they will feel as if they stepped back in time and are on Pirate ships.
