It is obvious that most of these reviews are from people who only visit a couple of times a year. 16th Street, while novel, leaves much to be desired.

As someone who lived downtown for a couple of years, I can tell you that the one thing that 16th has plenty of is homeless people. There is no shortage of panhandlers, and they move in droves in the mornings. They are not shy about confronting people, and it is common to be harassed.

As far as food goes, there is quite a bit, but the vast majority of the food is the same stuff you will find in any strip mall in the US, chain restaurants and fast food.

As far as shopping goes, there are a few decent stores, but just like the food, it is pretty much the same types of places you'll find in any other city in the country. There is no high-end shopping (Banana republic is not high-end), and there is really nothing unique here.

Outside of sporting events, the nightlife is sub-par and includes a few ho-hum bars with varying degrees of memorability.

I have since moved, but If you are looking for a shopping distraction for an afternoon that is outside, go to Boulder and visit Pearl Street. If you are looking for high end shopping, go to Cherry Creek.

Visit 16th street only if you are a fan of bland development that is a carbon copy of every other outdoor shopping center in the country.
