Life in Paris Street, San Francisco

Paris Street is located in the eastern suburbs of San Francisco and is considered by many to be one of the ‘classier’ streets in the surrounding area. Running just off Harris Road and Dellow Street, this beautiful stretch of road is an ‘ideal’ place to live that is close to shops, health services and public transport.

When walking down Paris Street, the first thing you notice is the green canopy that overhangs the road. If you like greenery, then you will love it here. Paris Street also has mostly modern architecture, so anyone suited to today’s chic visual living styles would be well suited here. Many of the houses in the street are two to three stories and have moderately spacious living areas. Pools and tennis courts are not that common, mainly due to the smaller land allocations. But this isn’t a problem for most as San Fran Recreational is only 5 minutes walk down the road and has tennis courts, swimming pools and gymnasium. San Fran Rec is also open 24hrs.

During the week, Paris Street is like most in the area…quiet and comfortable. There is very little noise from traffic and it’s a great place to live for couples and small families. On weekends Paris Street’s location really shines. Just around the corner is Jacobs’ Place which is a quaint little strip of cafés and boutique eateries. Perfect for Saturday afternoon coffee’s and Sunday brunch, the quiet locale pleases most. Also located just five minutes from Paris Street is the Bellor Mall. Not too big and not too small, this mall of shops houses some of San Fransicco’s finest retail chains especially when it comes to fashion. The Bellor Mall also houses a 7 Cinema complex and arcade entertainment area which is very popular with the under 20’s crowd on Saturday nights.

At the east end of Paris Street is Gnomor Park. This is a great area for taking the kids on the weekend and having a nice Sunday afternoon BBQ and there is also children’s playground to keep the young ones occupied. Although generally quiet during the week, the barbeques are very popular during the summer months so it is advised to get there early on weekends to make sure you don’t go hungry.

Getting around is a breeze from Paris Street as well. Just 2 minutes down the road directly opposite Telly Junction is the Fallum Train station which connects you to most of the city. Bus lines also run from the station weekdays between 7:30am and Midnight, and on weekends from 9:00am to 7:00pm.

Overall Paris Street has a great feel about it. It’s fantastic all year round with green trees combined with modern stylised architecture. Housing mostly young couples, often seen at Gnomor Park with the children for a weekend BBQ, Paris Street in San Francisco is a real find that I’m sure most would find very hard to beat.
