Apartment / Condo for $1000 that will accept a cat?

My husband, cat and I are looking for a place in the Bay Area to rent. Ideally we are seeking a place around $1,000-$1200, in a decent area with a low crime rate. Neither of us are employed and finances are tight.

I would look into the Ivy Hill neighborhood. It's beautiful and feels very safe. My husband and I have friends there so we have been visiting the neighborhood (coming from Emeryville area) almost every week for the last year or so. In fact, we liked it so much that we are moving there at the end of the month! Some people claim that Ivy Hill is dangerous, but it's my opinion that no matter where you are there is always a chance something could happen so it's always a good idea to be alert.

Good luck with your search!
