"A review of 42nd Street in BROOKLYN"

Unlike the previous miscategorized review, mine is for 42nd street in Brooklyn. I absolutely adore the area around Sunset Park, and this street is no exception. All the best taquerias in the city are right along 5th Avenue nearby, and a quick jaunt takes you up to Brooklyn's Chinatown...bubble tea, fresh groceries, and delicious Dim Sum await. But what astounds me more than anything about this neighborhood is how affordable it is to live in. The cost of living itself is low, but the property, even more so. The brownstones along these blocks (in the 40s and 50s, west of 6th or 7th avenue) are absolutely beautiful, and look just like the ones in Park Slope, but cost about half as much (well, maybe I'm exaggerating, but the rent is a lot cheaper, anyway). A lot of the neighborhood residents aren't going to speak your language, but if that doesn't bother you, you'll discover an extremely warm and welcoming community.

"On 42nd Street"

This street has a bit more to offer in terms of food and fun, this one has a lot to offer in terms of a nice oasis. With pretty houses, nice people, a calm feel, this street is an excellent place for a family. In terms of mobility, having a car here is a good idea, though public transportation is fairly easy to come by. I think that this is a good place to make a home and to build a life. I like Brooklyn a bit more than the other borough, and this street is the reason why.

"Hey other reviewers ... you suck"

Ummm this location is for 42nd street in .... BROOKLYN ... Maybe look at the map. There is no Times Square in Brooklyn. You're all thinking of 42nd street in Manhattan. There is also a 42nd street in QUEENS.

Also, 42nd street in MANHATTAN is a hell hole which every New Yorker avoids like the a homeless guy that just shat himself. It's what the 3rd Reich would be doing on the weekend, only more tacky and tasteless and over priced.

Please get a clue.

"Really Fun Street to visit"

This street is a very varied street with a lot of stuff to do...nice restaurants, nice cafes, close to anything you could possibly need or want. It is super convenient and offers a good experience of city life. There is a great public library and big buildings as well and a number of pretty old churches like St. Michael’s which is a catholic church.

"Lives up to the Song"

All my experiences in New York can be summed up on 42nd street. It has a little of everything the city has to offer. Right out of Grand Central head to the 42nd street exit and enjoy the sights. Home to such classics as the Chrysler Building, the New York Public Library this St is a must visit. In the summer I have enjoyed the Good Morning America concert series in Bryant Park adjacent to the library. Free shows that take place on Friday morning with popular artists taped to be shown on GMA.

"As great as everyone says it is."

Home of the great Public Library and some amazing coffee shops. I don't have anything bad to say about this place. Nice on the weekends especially if you love books and espressos. Do go here at least once if you are in the city. Don't forget to stop by the library and to grab yourself a nice warm espresso. Only negative is it is pretty crowded being one of the most popular streets in the city. 2 thumbs up.

"Do Believe the hype"

This street is as great as people say it is. It may even be better. If you really dig deep to find the culture and the contributions it has made to the aura around New York City, you will love it even more. Why not have a latte while sitting on the steps in front of the library? Or watch the parents walk by with their kids.

"Famous NY Street"

Home of the New York Public Library (with its two famous lions in front, probably as popular as the Empire State Building), 42nd street is also a very well-known street in the city. This library made huge contributions to the street's popularity and it was even made popular by being the setting in some big-hit movies and TV shows. (Spider-Man and Sex and the City).
