38th Ave Southwest, Gatewood

38th Ave SW is a great street to live on, especially if you like to walk to shopping and food! 38th Ave SW runs parallel to California Ave in the heart of West Seattle so you are never more than a few blocks away from great restaurants and shopping. The area is very walkable with wide sidewalks and minimal traffic. At the same time there is very easy access to major bus lines, including the express that takes you straight downtown. So, it is also a great street to live on if you work downtown. Most of the houses are in excellent condition and the area shows pride of ownership. Big yards and tree lined streets make this a nice place to walk with kids. You will run into lots of other parents and everyone is likely to say hello! A few major arterials cross 38th and if you live near one of those you may get a bit more traffic, but in general the street experiences mostly local traffic.
