166 Mile Rd
"great road for traveling east or west through the northern suburbs"
Metro Parkway is also known as 16 mile road, and also changes names as you travel through different cities. It becomes Big Beaver in Troy and Quarton road further west. This road is several lanes wide and moves good most of the day. There are many business located on this road in the eastern suburbs and as you travel west it becomes more suburban and when you reach the city of Troy, it becomes an international business district, with many hotels, and upscale shopping and dining areas. Further west it becomes residential with estate homes hidden behind large trees and yards. It is also a good road to use when traveling to I-75. The road is well maintained and the large median is nicely landscaped, although east of Sterling Heights, the area is a little older, so the median is not as nice as in cities further west. I use this street most of the time when traveling both east and west of Sterling Heights. I like it because it has many lanes, so traffic flows smoothly.
