New To Columbia Heights – advice on safety?
***Disclaimer: Some may find this post naive and ingenuous, but I need all the advice I can get nevertheless.****
Hi, am a young female in my early 20s moving to DC for work, have never lived in a big city before, coming from the midwest and always living in "suburbia."
Anyway, when beginning my search for living in DC I had read a few things about NW being a relatively "safer" area of the city than some others, (come to find out of course, there are some safer areas all over) so I was eager to find living and naively and probably ignorantly quickly decided on a place in CH thinking it would be very safe, now I have done a lot more browsing around the net, that I am leaving tomorrow for DC, and almost everything has me super paranoid about just how much crime occurs in CH and the potential risks I'll face on the daily.
Long story short, I am lloking for safety advice and to hear if any of you know about the area near 13th and Otis?
