Evanston is my favorite, because it sits next to Lake Michigan, although there are many great suburbs surrounding Chicago. Many of my friends and clients think that having both the Metra and the CTA's Purple Line make Evanston a great choice for those leaving the city for the first time. There are a wide variety of homes in Evanston (condos, townhomes, two-flats, three-flats, detached homes, etc.) and the Northwestern University campus near downtown Evanston contributes to a youthful, lively city. My wife and I are homeowners in Evanston. My children attend Evanston's public schools, which has been a good experience for our family.
